LRDC #THIS Week New Music Playlist 3/1/16

Tuesday, March 1st, 2016

So, this is going to be a quick post to sum up an all-in-all “chill ass list.”

Starting off strong, we have a playful song from British songstress (living in California) Annabel Jones called “IOU.” It has some of the dry snarkiness like what launched Lily Allen’s career, and she does it flawlessly. Not finding much material from the former, but I hope to see more from her soon! Next up, if you know me, I like to expand the bounds of my playlists into different languages. The song called “Sega” by El Guincho is super glitchy and the words are delivered in a manner that I’m really not used to. The next track spans so many different genres and I have been digging everything I have heard from them. Prince Rama in “Your Life In The End” spans different eras of music with some Passion Pit-y sounds, mixed with some David Bowie synth, and airiness and vocals like Enya. It’s like they had a beautiful, beautiful love child. Two completely different tracks are back to back, from the indie-rap (spoken word?!) “Papillon” to a great new song from Kero Kero Bonito!

I’ll skip a bit of great songs for the sake of time and shine down on a new song from White Lung out of Vancouver, CA. There is something about this, it’s so intense and up-tempo, yet the cadence of the lyrics is slower and very deliberate. It bangs hard and I really can’t get enough!

Let’s finish of on a high night with some straight bangers, we have a new, killer jam from Tokimonsta and a chill, bouncy track from Louis Futon.

Have a wonderful night with this!
