How To Dress Well – Repeat Pleasure

Thursday, July 24th, 2014

Tom Krell, better known as How To Dress Well, has the silky smooth vox you wish you had. This track by him is dreamy, and is a complete toe tapper, but too bad most people can’t sing along and fully reach his towering notes. Not really new music, but I’ve been hearing it a ton on the radio (KCRW here in LA) and I can’t deny it’s one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a while. His most recent album came out late last month and Pitchfork obviously liked it, giving it a sterling 8.8 and best new music. Heed their advice and mine as well and keep this guy on your radar.

Knox Hamilton – Work It Out

Wednesday, May 14th, 2014

“I know, I know…” I cannot believe it has taken me this long to get back and post on here. What better day to get back to posting than my 2 year anniversary of this blog, though. So let’s get into a song we have all heard a little of but probably not the whole thing. This little number is a freaking gem by an outfit called Knox Hamilton. The chimes will haunt you and ring in your mind all day as you hum your neighbors into insanity. Choppy distorted guitars and sustained synth also make this an extremely dreamy track and they totally nail it on this one. You also have to get behind a band that is personal with its fans. They have personally responded to just about every comment on this video. Cool bros, cool song, what else could you want.

St. Lucia – Elevate

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

Holy electro-indie, Batman! St. Lucia is the dreamy pop outfit of Jean-Philip Grobler. He also got his start the same way I did, in boy’s choir. He will completely sweep you off your feet with his newest single “Elevate” the first of (hopefully) many singles coming off his upcoming LP which will be titled “When the Night” and releasing on October 8th. If this guy wasn’t already on your radar, get him and keep him on there because if he doesn’t grab your attention with his catchy original songs, he’ll hit you with his dank remixes, like this one by Passion Pit.
